Set a primary partition as logical

Overview of Setting a Primary Partition as Logical

We all know that a MBR disk can hold either up to four primary partitions or three primary partitions and one extended partition in which there can be a number of logical partitions. And there comes a question: what should users do if the MBR disk already has four primary partitions while what they need is more than four partitions?

Under the circumstance, we guess the best way is to set a primary partition as logical. That is to say, the MBR disk will have three primary partitions and one extended partition. Then, users can create more logical partitions to meet their needs.

The Process to Set a Primary Partition as Logical

Another problem arises: how to set a primary partition as logical. Many users may ask this question because they are not familiar with this operation. In view of this, we suggest a practical partition manager to users to set a primary partition as logical so as to create more logical partitions for there exists an extended partition now.

MiniTool Partition Wizard is professional in managing partition and disk. Users can achieve the task by following the tutorials displayed as follows.

Users can see the type of F: is shown as logical. Then, click “Apply” button to apply the change.

Click-OK-to-end

Finally, just click “OK” on the pop-up interface to end the task of setting partition as logical.

Note: the boot partition or system partition is not allowed to be converted. Otherwise, the computer may become unbootable.
